How NOT to generate the LDF file

Nevermind why, but is there a command that will prevent an LDF file
from being generated when I attach the MDF using a script?

No, the transaction log is required. Without it, you don't have a
functional database.

So there is no option in the server settings that will allow you not
to generate the LDF file? I just don't want the physical file there.

That is equivalent to "I just don't want the database physically".
|||NO, you cannot just cross your arms and tell SQL Server you have no interest
in this physical log file thingy. It is not an option like a GPS unit on a
honda or a see-through window on a PC case. It is an absolutely crticial
and fundamental part of a relational SQL Server database.
