how much size SQL SERVER each connection memory ?
windows performance monitor,
I want to know is this normal?
I heard that each normal connection is about 2M size,is this right?

How much memory is allotted to a single user connection?
I wonder how much memory space is allotted to a single user connection.
I know MS SQL Server 6.5 allots 37KB of memory space to a single connection.
And I heard that MS SQL 2000 allots 500KB of memory space to a single
connection.
Is it true?
Thanks in advance.Where did u get this stat from ... Will be interested to see the same ...

SQL Server 2000 Objects Specifications", the BOL indicates that:
The memory used by a use connection uses 12 KB + (3 * Network Packet Size),
where Network Packet Size is controlled by the 'network packet size'
configuration option. The default is 4KB.

how many connection sqlexpress supports
I see this question a lot, so I thought I would go ahead and post the answer here.
Q: How many connections does SQL Server Express support?
A: Unlike MSDE, SQL Server Express does not limit connections. SQL Server Express supports:
1 gb RAM (note the machine can have more memory, but 1gb will be used by SQL Express) 1 processor (again, the machine can have more, but just 1 proc will be used by SQL Express) 4 gb database size (note, there can be multiple databases, but none of them individually can be more than 4 gb)Hope this helps,
Thanks< MJ
Is it right that only 5 database users can connect to SQL Server express 2005 engine at the same time?Monday, March 12, 2012
how make public sql connection
i want to make a sql connection for a simple application
but i want to use this same connection in the application i have 10 forms in
application so i want in all forms.
after i make setup i can i should change the server name and password.
so if this possible please tell me about this in details.
thanks.

Sub InsertData()
Dim oConn As Object
Dim sSQL As String
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Set wsSheet = ActiveWorkbook.Sheets("Product Tracking")
Set oConn = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
oConn.Open = "Provider=sqloledb;" & _

how long before sleeping connections disappear
"sleeping connection" in EM/Current Activity/Process Info disappears? Is
there a way short of rebooting or stopping/starting services to get it to
disappear sooner?
Thanks,
--
Dan D.Hello,
The inactive connections will be removed from SQL Server based on the
application time out setup in appllication layer. Sleeping status doesnt
mean that status is orphan
connection, because most of the time if the process wait for a user Input
or waiting for a lock will be in sleeping mode. It can go for Running
status any time.

How investigate type of connection to DB( MS SQL or Oracle) during execution of a packet?
How investigate type of a connection to DB( MS SQL or Oracle) during execution of a packet?
In the time of executon of packet I must determine type of connection? What do good practices exists?
Thanks In Advance.
I don't understand the question. The way I read it is counter-intuitive for the way SSIS works. SSIS needs to know upfront which connection to use.|||Yes, you are right. SSIS needs to know upfront which connection to use IN DESIGN TIME.
I need provide ETL operations for MS SQL and ORACLE databases, but I can't to design two similar packages for Oracle and MS SQL.
Therefore I want:
After deployment into another server I can change type of connection.
For example, I have two databases in ORACLE 9i and MS SQL 2005. Every of these databases has table X for same structure ( field1 int, field2 varchar(X) ). I need to load data from table X.
During design time:
1) In SSIS package I created connection to MS SQL server.
2) I loaded data from DB for some purpose.
After deployment:
I can make a change in connection string in Execute package Utility. For instance, switch connection from MS SQL to Oracle.
During runtime:
I need to know which type of a server this connection to be connected (MS SQL or Oracle). I need it to form a SQL-request in a Task script for SQL-execute script.

|||Since the connection string is run-time dynamic , look at the connection string at runtime. In particular, you can use the class OleDbConnectionStringBuilder inside a script task.To that point, you can get the provider, the data source, and all the other key value pairs as properties (or method calls) against the OleDbConnectionStringBuilder. The provider property will give you the conditionals you're looking for (see http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.data.oledb.oledbconnectionstringbuilder.aspx ) for the properties on this object.
Also, if you're passing in the connection string as a variable, you don't need a script task, you can just parse out the provider using an SSIS expression.
how initialize a connection string in .Net

any help would be appreciated
aluckeHi,
normally we would have initialized the connection by doing this
dim conn as new sqlconnection("data source=server;initial catalog=database;user id=blahblah;password=557896")
if you still experience error can you print out your codes too?
