How remove blank values from report parameter list

Hi,

In report designer, while adding report parameters how to remove blank or empty values from parameter drop down list. Blank values will appear even after unchecking "Allow blank value" option.

Thanx

I think you messed something up. Allow blank values only means that you can put in a empty string as a parameter value. If you have a data driven combobox you will have to redefine the query that fills the combobox to make it only to show non blank values. Look for the column you specified as value column if you can filter the values out, that are retrieved from the database.

How long does it take to drop a FT index?

Yesterday I created a full text index on a single field in my database with
365000 rows in order to do some performance testing to see if moving to a
full text index would provide significant improvement over LIKE clauses for
looking up words in titles of products. I now need to create indexes on a
couple more rows, and so I need to drop the existing index and create a new
one. However, it's now 3 hours later and iSQL is still running my drop
statement. How long does it normally take to drop a full text index of 98045
unique words with 364704 items, totalling 13MB? If I right click on the
catalog in SQL Ent Manager and choose Properties it shows the catalog as
idle. No errors are being returned by iSQL, and there is nothing in either
the W2K Event Log or the SQL log to indicate there is a problem. Please help

This should happen well within a minute. run sp_lock to see if there is any
locking.

I knew I'd forgotten to do something :|
Thanks for the help. I found a stuck connection from a process that ran a
9:26 last night that for reason hadn't cleared - the process ended after
only a few seconds, yet SQL Server was maintaining the lock. In the end I
had to restart the SQL Server service to get rid of it, then the index
dropped in 5 seconds.
Dan
|||You have to be very careful with locking. SQL FTS does apply row level
locking while doing populations which can aggravate deadlocks and
maintenance operations like the one you have discovered.

How know when one Table was droped? HELP-ME

Hi all,
I have one Data Base,
Today one strange thing occur, one table of my data base disappear , I didnt
drop it, then i would like know if have way to determine when this occur;
The last week same thing occur whit one store procedure.
Any one knows, how to help-me.
I use SQL Server 2005 SP1
Thanks to allIn SQL Server 2005 you can use DDL Triggers. Using these triggers you can
record the time the object was deleted, the login and user name used to
delete the object and the command executed, among other things.
See BOL for more information.

It sounds like you may need to review your security settings and who has
access to this system! If this is a development system then you should also
be keeping code in a version control system.

You'll need to restore the database from a backup file and then restore
any log files. If you are using a recovery model other than Simple, you
may be able to recover the table using a tool like Log Explorer from
Lumigent (but you'll need to purchase it).
There is no undo operation for things like this.

|||Hello Roberto
The table/data may be unrecoverable if the following are true :
- Command was not run within a transaction
- Command completed before SQL Server service was stopped

|||Do you mean you deleted the link in Access? If so, relink the table.
Deleting the link in Access will not drop the SQL Server table.
If Access is the linked server in SQL and you deleted the Access table, you
may be able to restore the table if the Access DB has not been compacted
since the deletion.

|||I delete the table in Access tables's view, but the table was linked to Sql
Server, so the "real" table resided in Sql Server.
Thanks very much anyway.

|||I'sorry. I should clarify it is an .ADP proyect used as a tool to managing
the server.
The problem was that droping table from the project <=> drop table in the
server.
Perhaps, it could be a "undo" in the proyect, but I must admit Access never
had similar one.
