When you use sql 2005 management studio to connect to a sql 2005 server, you can deny view on any database and one user will not be able to see any database that he/she does not own.
However, what about if this person uses sql 2005 management studio to connect to a sql 2000 server. Since sql 2005 management studio does not call the store procedure sp_MSdbuseraccess, it will display all the database in the server.
It does not seem like I can use "deny view on any database to username" on a sql 2000 server.
Does anyone have any idea what I need to do in order to not show all the database when I use sql 2005 management studio to connect to a sql 2000 server box?
Thank you.EM will show the database as existing, but you can still deny access to the database and prevent people from opening it up or viewing the objects and data inside it.
Only admins should be using Enterprise Manager anyway...|||What I want to do is to deny any login id (who owns certain database) to not be able to see other database at all.
Just like sql 2005, you can run "deny view any database to userid"
However, doesn't seem like sql 2000 has this command.|||The databases are like houses. You can prevent people from going inside, but you can't prevent people from seeing them.

how must i design table(s)
Hello,
i need a new table for a new picture gallery. But there is a problem
like that under the picture there is a view information and after all
views its value is updated. If i make it indexed update takes more
time and performance is also important for me, if i dont use indexed
listing takes more time.
Help me how must i design this table? It's difficult to make recommendations without your table DDL, queries and
what version of SQL Server you are using.
Updates to an indexed column incur overhead but it may be justified by data
retrieval performance. If performance is important to you, you'll need to
run performance tests on your hardware. For a write-intensive application
like this, also pay particular attention to configuration details like
separating transaction log from data, RAID 10 for data and write-caching
(with guaranteed persistence).
Hope this helps.

How I can make trigger to Add Row 4 to my data base?
Hi
I need help about this problem
I have a data grid view like this:
Index
Code(releted to other table)
Name
Price +
Price _
1
1
BMW X5
1000000 $
2
1
BMW X3
500000 $
3
1
BMW Z3
250000 $
4
1
SUM
1750000 $
Row 4 must add by code automatically.
How? I must Use trigger or . . .?
my user may want to edit the data (some row OR price) I have a Problem.
How I can make a Code for Make SUM add row 4 and Delete this row when it loaded to edit? (Select and delete)
Or I can do some thing better than delete the row and write it again?
This doesn't seem like a SQL Server problem. If you do not want to persist the results in the backend you should do it in the client-side and add the extra row to the DataGrid from code. You should post this question in the Visual Studio or .NET Framework newsgroups.Sunday, February 19, 2012

The permissions granted to user 'BOUDTFS\IUSR_FIVERIVERS' are insufficient
for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied)
How am I supposed to give necessary privileges if I can't get to this page?
I'm logged into our domain as an administrator, but since going through a
browser an going in as that IUSR account.
